Your Role as a Lead Hand
As a Lead Hand at YVR Handyman, you’ll play a key role in managing our onsite construction crews, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Crew Leadership – Managing and mentoring team members to meet scheduling and quality goals.
- Project Execution – Ensuring construction is completed according to approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
- Team Coordination – Providing clear direction to crew members and subcontractors to meet project targets.
- Problem Solving – Identifying and proactively addressing challenges in collaboration with project managers and site supervisors.
- Risk & Opportunity Management – Leading the onsite team to optimize project scope, quality, and scheduling.
- Material Management – Overseeing the receipt, storage, and protection of building materials.
- Professional Development – Supporting crew members through training, mentorship, and team meetings.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication – Ensuring all crew members and subcontractors interact with customers professionally.
- Worksite Management – Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional job site.
- Culture & Teamwork – Promoting a positive, supportive, and respectful work environment.


What You Bring to the Table
- 5+ years of experience managing crews on a construction site.
- Red Seal Carpenter Certification or equivalent experience in skilled trades.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient building techniques and modern construction practices.
